About

Anisa is a multidisciplinary artist whose interest in clay begun during her background as an architectural designer. With a studio currently based in Mashiko, Japan, her practice is influenced by the articulation of form and materiality. Combined with foraged clay, stones and natural debris, her work attempts to embrace nature’s influence on creating design patterns. This ensures each piece brings its own identity depending on the traditional woodfiring techniques and materials used. She shifts between vessel and sculpture, embracing multiple artforms in the journey to form a relationship with clay.
